A man spotted acting 'suspiciously' in New Brighton earlier today (Saturday, August 17) has been detained.
Police were called to Kings Parade at 9am, following reports of a male acting suspiciously in the area.
Following a search of the area, a 30-year-old man, of no fixed abode, was detained on Warren Drive and found to be wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to appear in court.
He is currently in custody.
Reports on social media suggested that he had a gun, but no weapon was found.
