A Wirral schoolgirl was among the winners after taking to the stage for a concert in aid of a Merseyside charity helping the homeless.
Primal Live’s huge battle of the bands style event at Camp & Furnace raised more than £4,000 for The Whitechapel Centre in Liverpool.
Among the 25 talented artists who performed on stage and competed for top prizes was Ava Fitz, 15, from Port Sunlight.
She won prizes for 'best performance' and 'best original song' for her song I'm Falling , which has been released as a single and is being played by Dave Monks on BBC Radio Merseyside this week.
Her prizes were recording time at the SAE Institute and a place at a Songwriters Retreat, where she will work with multi-award winning songwriters in stunning locations.
Ava, who attends Wirral Grammar in Bebington and is about to start her final year at the school with hopes of attending Lipa Sixth Form College once she finishes her GCSEs, told the Globe: "Primal Live was the best experience I've had as a musician.
"It felt amazing to perform with so many other local artists and for such a good cause with £4000 raised by everyone on the night."
She is celebrating the song's release with a gig at The Arts Bar Baltic in Liverpool this Sunday (August 18), with other young local artists supporting her on the night as her special guests.
Her dad Jeff added: "We are very proud of her achievement and have witnessed her confidence grow since taking part in the event. Ava won best performance and also best original song.
"The prize was recording time in a studio, and a three-day song-writing retreat with Music Industry professionals which Ava is really excited about.
"Ava wants to pursue a career in the music industry and would love to release an album in the future."
Primal Live's organiser Andy Sampson said: "The event was a huge success — combining top quality acts and giving them a platform with raising money for an important cause.
"We’re so proud of everyone who took part and made it such a success — each and every one of them are stars! Thank you to the judges, compere Liam Bretherton and the venue — notably Duncan Lewis and SAE Institute who supplied the amazing prizes."
He continued: "We're delighted with the success of the event and the feedback has been fantastic.
"To raise over £4,000 for the homeless through the power of music is a great achievement and we’re already planning our next event — any musicians who want to enter can contact us now. We want to make Primal Live a regular event in Liverpool."
Andy Sampson and the team at Primal Events and Premier White Collar Boxing have organised countless corporate and charity boxing events over the years — raising millions for good causes over the many years of events.
The Primal Live song contest is another string to their bow — utilising the power of music to raise money for an important local cause.
