A WIRRAL man has been charged in connection with violent disorder in Southport and Liverpool.
George Clements, 18 years old, of Egerton Street, New Brighton, has been charged with violent disorder in Liverpool city centre on Saturday, August 3.
He is the 22nd man to be charged in connection with serious and violent disorder.
Widespread violence broke out in Southport on Tuesday night and then in Liverpool city centre and Walton on Saturday.
Officers were injured and damage was caused to police vehicles and buildings, including a library which was set on fire.
Clements has been remanded into custody to appear at Liverpool Magistrates Court on Monday, August 12.
