Flooding at a Merseyrail station has caused disruption for Chester and Ellesmere Port passengers this morning (Tuesday, July 16).
Heavy rain over the past 16 hours has led to flooding on the railway at Hooton.
As a result, train services which would normally start at Chester are now beginning at Hooton, with a rail replacement service operating between Chester and Hooton.
Mersyrail has advised that train services from Ellesmere Port may be delayed too.
Some of the services are being terminated at Rock Ferry due to congestion, and passengers are advised to check the front of the train of platform boards before boarding the train.
