A MAN has been charged following a break-in at a Wirral supermarket in the early hours of Saturday (June 8).
At around 5.45am, police received a report of the break in at Lidl on St Paul's Road in Rock Ferry which resulted in a safe being reportedly stolen. CCTV and witness enquiries are ongoing.
Robert Edwards-Sutton, 38, of Lansdowne Road, Birkenhead, was arrested and has now been charged with burglary.
Edwards-Sutton will appear at Wirral Adult Remand Court this morning (Monday, June 10).
Detective Inspector Phil Ryan said: “Although an arrest has been made, enquiries are ongoing and therefore we are still keen to hear from anyone who lives locally or who was passing the location in the early hours of Saturday.
“If you and saw or captured anything on dashcam or other devices come forward as we continue to investigate.”
