This year’s search for the area’s best in a whole host of categories started with hair and LA Hair was crowned our first winner.

Then we moved onto pies with Pies4u taking the title.

Next up were picture perfect nails with customers and readers sending their nominations for their favourite nail technician.

Ten talented nail techs in Wirral made the shortlist for Best for Nails with Taylor McMullan taking the coveted crown for the second time in three years.

The 24-year-old mum-of-one opened her home salon on Malpas Road in Wallasey in January 2023, where she works with mum Zoey.

Taylor has been self employed since 2019 having worked in a few local salons but prefers the homely feel to her own place.

Taylor, who has lived in the Wallasey area for the past 10 years, is qualified in all things beauty and nails but focuses on nails and brows.

Taylor said: “I decided to open my own business because I loved the idea of being my own boss.

“I have a level 2 and level 3 in beauty and I’m fully qualified in makeup and lashes as well.

“I love the social side of the beauty industry – my clients are amazing.

“I’ve made so many friends from this job – I look forward to my regular catch-ups with each client.

“Many of my clients prefer the private home salon to a public one as it’s more relaxing and gives them space to talk openly and freely.

“A lot of people come to their appointments in their pjs!”

One review on her Facebook page said: “Been going to Taylor for years now and couldn’t imagine going anywhere else.”

When nominations say Taylor Jade is “the best in Wirral”, she has clearly perfected her skills.

Taylor said: “The best thing about my job is my clients - I adore all of them.

“I’ve been there through so many of their big life events and I’ve seen lots of my younger clients grow into amazing people.

“I was made up when I found out I’d made the shortlist for Wirral’s Best for Nails and then couldn’t believe that I’d won again – for the second time in three years.

“None of this would be possible without my hugely supportive clients.

“I’m so lucky and can’t thank them enough for voting for me.”
