WIRRAL's Race For Life events in aid of Cancer Research UK take place this weekend.

The Globe-backed fundraiser, taking place in Birkenhead Park on Sunday (May 19) is open to people of all ages and abilities where mums, dads, sons, daughters, grandparents and friends can choose from 3k and 5k events. To enter, visit raceforlife.org   

Book fair

WIRRAL Book Fair will take place at the Floral Pavilion in New Brighton this Saturday (May 18).

It promises 'books for all tastes and ages, pockets and purses'. There will also be a chance to meet Cathy Roberts, author of The Mersey Moggies.

WIRRAL Pals is the title of Peter Threlfall's talk to Bebington Family History Group next Monday (May 20) at St. Barnabus  Hall, Bromborough. It starts at 7.30pm.

Lever exhibit

AN exhibition showcasing 40 pieces of women’s artwork dating from the early 1800s to the 1980s is on view at Lady Lever Art Gallery in Port Sunlight.

Another View: Landscapes by Women Artists is on display until August 18.

Featuring work by artists such as Vanessa Bell (1879-1961), Ingrid Pollard (b. 1953) and Dame Ethel Walker (1861-1951), the showcase considers how artists have used their practice to explore the issues of their day, asking questions about class, gender, politics, and more through their depictions of landscape.
