EARLESTOWN'S indie heroes have won a prestigious award at a new music awards ceremony.
After charting behind only The Libertines and Beyonce with debut album 'I Wonder If The World Knows?', The K's have been touring the country in some of their biggest shows to date this year.
Although the band has been adored by a growing number of fans since their formation in 2017, this year has been their biggest yet and their achievements were recognised by the inaugural Northern Music Awards last night (Tuesday, April 23).
With the ceremony launched to celebrate the best of musical talent across the north of England, The K's, who also played live at the event, took home the award for 'Breakthrough Act of the Year'.

Speaking about the award win, The K's vocalist Jamie Boyle said: "We’re absolutely buzzing to win Breakthrough Artist Of The Year at the first ever Northern Music Awards.
"To even be nominated was but to come home with the award was next level!
"Thank you to everyone involved and hopefully it’s the first of many!"
Launched by music therapy charity 'Nordoff and Robbins', the Northern Music Awards is hoped to become the 'Brit Awards of the North'.
A whole host of northern musicians were present at the ceremony, with Courteeners frontman Liam Fray saying it was "really exciting to be a part of a really special night for the north".
Courteeners won 'Band of the Year' after their 2008 debut album finally reached number one in 2023 after being reissued.
Other winners included Louis Tomlinson as 'Artist of the Year', and English Teacher as 'Newcomer of the Year.
Yorkshire band The Reytons were handed the 'Disruptor Award' while a special recognition and honorary award were given to Spice Girl Mel C and The Charlatans frontman Tim Burgess.
Nadra Shah, Nordoff and Robbins director of engagement and communications, hopes the Northern Music Awards will be held in a different city every year.
She said: "If I were to be really bold, I'd say I'd love for it to become like the Brits of the North - an established award show that attracts the highest talent, the biggest names, and in doing so raises a shedload of money for the organisation and enables us to continue doing what we do, which is delivering music therapy to people that need it most."
The charity is currently raising funds to open a dedicated music therapy centre in Salford.
