A TROWBRIDGE antiques dealer who has traded in the town for more than 25 years has opened a second shop in nearby Bradford on Avon.

Michael Lojko, who runs The Old Sweet Works antique shop in Church Street, has opened Silver Street Antiques in Bradford on Avon at the former Browns Hardware store building.

Mr Lojko is running the new shop with support from his daughter Nadia and Roger Hearn and it is already proving a popular addition to the historic Georgian market town.

Mr Lojko, 70, said: “We ran a pop-up shop before Christmas in the old Lloyds Bank in Church Street and were inspired by the people of Bradford on Avon to look for other premises.

“We have moved into Silver Street and are selling a wide range of collectibles, militaria, silver and gold items, and high-end clocks and bronzes, as well as good quality mirrors, carpets and furniture.

“We’ve had a good response because people are so glad to see a little antiques shop there. They can come in and spend as little as £5 or as much as £10,000.”
