A show recreating the final performance of the legendary Frank Sinatra is coming to Wirral as part of a UK tour.

Following a sell-out run at the Jermyn Street Theatre in London’s West End, Richard Shelton is bringing his Frank Sinatra: The Retirement Concert show to the Floral Pavilion New Brighton on Thursday, May 2.

It recreates the moment in June 1971, when at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, Hollywood, at the age of 55, Frank Sinatra announces he is retiring, bringing to an end his 36-year career in show business.

His retirement concert was described as a milestone in music history and saw the passing of an icon and a golden era.

A spokesperson for the show said: "Wearing Sinatra’s personal tuxedo, the iconic concert is faithfully recreated by Richard Shelton, the world’s leading dramatic interpreter of Frank Sinatra and a former star of ITV's Emmerdale, accompanied by the Syd Lawrence Orchestra, one of the most enduringly popular big bands of all time.

"Including All or Nothing at All, That’s Life and My Way – no other artist summed up their life by a song title so succinctly or made such sense of what it is just to be alive".
