A WOMAN was taken to hospital with “serious” face injuries after she was assaulted by a man in Wirral.
At around 12.45am on Sunday, April 14 police were called to Warrington Street in Tranmere to reports of a woman being assaulted.
A woman was found with serious face injuries and was taken to hospital to be assessed.
A man was arrested and taken to a police station for questioning.
Declan Gateley, 28, has now been charged with Section 18 assault and appeared at Wirral Magistrates Court yesterday (Monday, April 15).
He was remanded in custody until his next appearance.
