WELCOME to Behind the Lens, a feature that shines a light on the talented photographers in our Wirral Globe Camera Club group.

This week, we’re looking at Mandy Williams’ favourite photographs and hearing about her passion for photography, something which she has always enjoyed.

Mandy, who grew up in Woodchurch and has lived in Wallasey for 16 years, loves taking pictures when she’s out walking with her dogs so she can share the memories with others.

When and why did you take up photography?

I have always enjoyed taking photographs, my phone is full of them! I am not a professional photographer and I have never studied photography. I take all my photographs on my Samsung phone.

What do you love about taking pictures?

I love taking photographs on my phone when I am out walking my two dogs. It gives me a chance to capture a moment in time and it also allows me to share my memories with others. It allows me to express and bring out the beauty that is in front of me.

What is your favourite subject matter and why?

I enjoy taking photographs on all subjects, but most of all it must be the stunning sunsets we get on the Wirral.

What do you enjoy about being part of our Camera Club on Facebook?

I enjoy being part of the Camera Club because it has given me confidence to share my photographs. The members are all very friendly and they have given me lots of advice on how to improve my work. I absolutely love looking at all of the talented work they all post.

If you could photograph anyone/any place/anything, who/what would it be?

This is a really hard question; I just love finding the beauty in everything really. If I had the opportunity one day, I would love to go and take photographs in Norway.
