FRIENDS of Birkenhead Kennels is hosting a remembrance walk in memory of a puppy who was found dumped in a Wirral beauty spot.

On Saturday (March 23) the puppy, who was found by a member of the public in Port Sunlight River Park in Bromborough, was brought into the Friends of Birkenhead Kennels rescue centre.

The puppy, named Shadrach by kennel volunteers, had mutilated ears and was so emaciated that he was “too weak to stand” and staff could not determine his breed.

Despite being rushed to the vet where he was examined, given treatment and a special meal plan the kennels announced that Shadrach had passed away due to the extent of the neglect and malnutrition he had experienced.

Following the heartbreaking news the kennels has organised a remembrance walk in memory of Shadrach this weekend.
