New incentives to attract families and pet owners to the cinema this Easter have been unveiled at Chester Picturehouse.
For dog owners, they can now take advantage of Chester Picturehouse's new dog-friendly screening, where owners and their pet pooches can see Oscar-nominated Robot Dreams at 11am on Sunday, April 7.
Based on the popular graphic novel by the North American writer Sara Varon, Robot Dreams tells the adventures and misfortunes of Dog and Robot in New York during the 80s.
Those wishing to take their dog to the cinema will be issued with a fleece blanket to cover the cinema seat used by the dog, or to use as a rug if the dog site on the floor.
During the screenings, there will be bowls of water around the screen, while lighting levels will be left a little higher and the soundtrack volume lowered. Capacity will be reduced, so fewer tickets are available for this special screening. One dog per one adult is permitted (customers can also attend without a dog).
With children breaking up for the Easter holidays, the cinema – which opened its doors late last year in Exchange Square, near the Chester Market – has also cut family ticket prices to £26 for four tickets.
It comes as new films Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire and Kung Fu Panda 4 are being shown during the school holidays.

In addition, Chester Picturehouse’s Saturday morning Kids’ Club will run for the whole of the Easter holidays, where youngsters can see Peter Rabbit or Disney-Pixar’s Soul for £3.30 a ticket.
