A Chester pub rolled back the years in memory of two much-missed residents and to raise hundreds of pounds for a local good cause.

An 80s Night was Held at the Bridge Inn, Tarvin Road on Saturday, March 16, with 'Woodsy' (Phil Woods) belting out classic 80s hits to a packed audience.

During the evening a charity raffle and auction was held in memory of former Vicars Cross resident Michelle Jennings and former Bridge Inn Fishing Club member Chris Allnatt.

All proceeds from the event, totalling £808, have gone to The Martin Gallier Project in St Werburgh Street Chester, run by the suicide prevention charity and which officially opened last year.

Charity event organiser Mick Hughes thanked John and Sophie Lee of the Bridge Inn, bar staff and customers, individuals who provided the raffle prizes Eira and Dave Hughes, Sally Power, George and Jackie Green, Cassy Simpson and Linda DeBeaufort.

Also thanked were all the local businesses, The Cock o' Barton Malpas and Tanner's Wines Boughton, KH Aesthetics Ellesmere Port, Faye Makeup Artistry Chester, Creative Hair Co. Vicars Cross and Nails by Tina Chester, Dutton's Godstall Lane Chester, Tackle Locker Boughton, The Bridge Inn and Hungry Cow and John Jennings of 2 Jays Roofing and Building, who provided marvellous auction prizes.

Mick paid a special tribute to fellow charity fundraiser John Jennings. He said: "We have worked together for over 30 years for various charities including Miles of Smiles, Hospice of the Good Shepherd, MIND and The Martin Gallier Project.

"I have just organised events whilst John has run epic Marathons including The London Marathon and his latest effort of 34.5 miles around Chester City Walls.
