A MAN suffered a broken jaw after he was attacked by three men outside a Liverpool city centre bar.

It was reported that at around 12.15am on Monday, March 18 a man was punched several times by three men outside McCooley’s bar on Wood Street.

It was further reported that one of the offenders ran in the direction of Hanover Street.

The victim, a man in his 20s, suffered a broken jaw and a head injury as a result of the assault.

CCTV and witness enquiries are ongoing to identify the suspects responsible, and detectives have issued CCTV images of three men they believe could assist with their investigation.

Detective Inspector Neil Dillon said: “This was a vicious attack that left the victim requiring hospital treatment.

“People should be able to enjoy a night out without being subjected to any kind of violence or fear of being assaulted.

“I am appealing to the men featured in the images, or anyone who recognises them to come forward. We believe they could hold information that could be vital to our continuing enquiries.”
