A WIRRAL care home has been rated among the top 20 most recommended in the North West.

Leighton Court in Wallasey was voted for a Carehome.co.uk Award 2024 by residents and their relatives.

The results are based on individual review scores that carehome.co.uk have received from residents, and their friends, family and loved ones, demonstrating real life opinions and first-hand experiences from those most closely connected to the home.

Leighton Court received an overall rating of 9.8/10 based on independent reviews, in recognition of the high standards of care provided at the home – which provides residential and nursing services for the local community.

The 47-bed home was rated good by the CQC in July 2021, demonstrating that the home is "safe, effective, caring, and responsive".

Anne Lewis-McLoughlin, home manager, said: "Our residents and their families, friends and loved ones are always at the heart of everything we do at Leighton Court and so it means the world to know that they recognise the dedication and kind care of the whole team – as reflected in their independent reviews on carehome.co.uk and our position as a top 20 care home in the North West."

HC-One's area director, Jackie Jones, said: "I am delighted that Leighton Court have been announced as a winner of the Carehome.co.uk Top 20 Award 2024 in the North West, based on independent reviews by those using our services over the past year.

"This is an amazing achievement, which reaffirms our mission to be the first-choice care home for residents, their loved ones, and our colleagues in each of the communities we serve."

The annual awards are organised by Carehome.co.uk, a care home directory and comparison website.

In total, 18 HC-One homes received awards for being among the Top 20 care homes in their respective regions with four receiving awards for being in the Top 20 Care Homes in the North West of England.
