CCTV images show two people who could help police with enquiries following an assault in Liverpool city centre.

At around 12.30am on Thursday February 8, police were called to a reported fight at McDonald's on Ranelagh Street which is said to have begun with an altercation between a woman and a female member of staff.

It was reported that two female customers tried to intervene, but had their hair pulled by the woman with one victim pulled to the floor which caused a cut to her head and grazed elbow.

An 18-year-old man tried to help his friends but was punched in the face by another male, causing three broken teeth and a black eye.

The two suspects then left the premises and got into a taxi.

CCTV and witness enquiries are ongoing to identify the suspects responsible, and detectives have issued two images of people they believe could assist with their investigation.

Detective Inspector Chris Carlin said: “This was a cowardly attack where one victim sustained facial injuries and was left very shaken by the attack.

“I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or has information which can help with our investigation to please contact us.

“I am also appealing to the two people featured in the images, or anyone who recognises them to come forward. We believe they could hold information that could be vital to our continuing enquiries.”
