A GANG of teenage girls stole alcohol and threatened a worker at a convenience shop in Wirral.

At around 8.50pm on Sunday (March 3) officers received a report that four teenage girls had entered Premier on Green Lane in Tranmere and stole several items of alcohol after threatening a member of staff.

They also damaged several items inside the shop and banged on the shutters once they left with the alcohol and the store was closed.

Merseyside Police said officers have carried out witness enquiries in the local area and are analysing CCTV footage for further information.

A spokesperson for the force said: “Officers are investigating following a report of a theft at a shop in Tranmere on Sunday 3 March.
