A POLICE dog helped officers find a suspected burglar who was caught hiding in a garden shed in Wallasey.

At around 9.45am yesterday (Sunday, March 3) officers received a report that a man had entered the garden of a property on Hillside Road in Wallasey.

It was reported that the man then climbed into the garden of another house and stole items from the shed before making off over the rear gardens.

Police Dog Brutus helped officers track down the suspect who was found hiding in a garden shed on Bletchley Avenue.

A 24-year-old man from Wirral was arrested on suspicion of burglary and attempted burglary.
