A WIRRAL charity's third suicide prevention conference is taking place later this year.
The event, set up by suicide prevention, intervention and postvention charity, The Martin Gallier Project (MGP), will take place on Friday, May 10 at Tranmere Rovers Football Club in Prenton.
It has been designed to examine the vital contributions made by both statutory and third-sector organisations, to support the mental health and well-being of those within the North West with the theme of "Suicide Prevention; Everybody's business".
Team MGP will be joined by the leading lights who are helping to prevent suicide in the heart of our community.
A number of guest speakers are lined up as well as members of the suicide intervention team who will be starting conversations about how we can work together to create a suicide safer community
Topics covered will include:
- Local community support services
- Creating more personalised support systems for those in / or around suicidal crisis
- Approaches towards parental and family bereavement support
- The importance of self-care workplace wellbeing
- Providing robust crisis and emergency support structures
- Networking between healthcare and community providers to ensure a pathway to recovery
Jessica Gallier, chief executive of The Martin Gallier Project, said "We are proud once again to be hosting the Wirral Suicide Prevention Conference 2024 here at Prenton Park.
"Our charity has recently turned five years old and in that time have successfully completed 30,013 life saving suicide interventions across Wirral delivered by Team MGP.
