TWO Wirral babies leapt into the world today within seconds of each other sharing a unique birthday – February 29.
Romy Ainsworth was the first to arrive on leap year day at Wirral Women and Children’s Hospital at 1.04pm with Theo James Moore arriving less than a minute later.
Parents-of-six Rachel and Glenn Ainsworth were thrilled to welcome their seventh child into the world on the rarest of birthdays – leap year day – with Romy weighing 7lb.
Thirty-year-old Rachel, who lives in Prenton, said: “She was early, so we didn’t expect a leap year baby.
“We’ll celebrate her birthday on February 28 in non leap years but leap year celebrations will be extra special.”
Less than a minute after Romy was born, Theo arrived weighing 6lb 8oz.
Mum Hayley Davies, aged 34 from Beechwood, said: “Theo was born two weeks early but I’m delighted by his arrival.
“I didn’t think I would have a normal delivery after having had a caesarean the last time.”
