AN 87-year-old man has denied causing the death of a young motorcyclist by careless driving.
25-year-old Matthew James Jones was taken to hospital with critical injuries after the crash at the junction of Chester Road and Gayton Lane, Heswall, Wirral at about 10.15 am on January 3, 2022.
He sadly later died and today (Tue) elderly car driver, Donald Othick, appeared in the dock at Liverpool Crown Court.
Othick, of Eastbank Court, Eastbank, Drive, Worcester, pleaded not guilty to causing death by driving his Toyota Auris without due care and attention .
Judge David Potter fixed a date for his trial to begin on October 28 and he was further remanded on bail.
