A BRAND new wine and cocktail bar has opened in Bromborough.

Mel Anderson, from Bromborough, has spent her career as a dog groomer but had always dreamt of opening a bar.

She explained how she "loves Bromborough", but people have to often travel to Liverpool to have a good night out, and travelling back is a "nightmare".

So, she decided to open Vault, a cocktail and wine bar, with live music on a Friday evening and Sunday afternoon.

Speaking to the Globe, she said: "I thought let's just give it a go, because I love where I'm from so I wanted to bring the fun here.

"It’s used to be the old Lloyds bank and when we went in we weren't sure what we were going to call it, and the old vault was still there.

"We decided to keep the old vault door as a feature because they're really expensive to move, and that's where the name Vault came from."

The bar opened on December 2, and Mel said it's "going really well".

She added: "It's a really relaxed atmosphere, and it's going better than I could have ever imagined.

"People have said they feel like they're part of a community, and I wanted to bring that to Bromborough".

Vault has a full cocktail menu, and serves beers and wines. It is a family-run business, with Mel's two daughters, Erin and Layani working behind the bar, along with Erin's partner Cai, and her son Dylan helping at weekends.

They are appealing to all age groups, but you have to be over 18 to enter. Dogs are also allowed.
