A FUNDRAISER has been set up in memory of a motorcyclist who "always had a smile on his face" to give him a "funeral and memorial he deserves".

36-year-old Jason Threlfall, was tragically killed in a crash at the junction of Stadium Road and Commercial Road on Wednesday, January 10 after it was reported that his motorbike had been in collision with a Kia Sportage car.

A 52-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and was released under investigation.

In a family tribute released last week, Jason was described as a "beautiful soul" who was "generous to a fault".

It said: "He would light up a room with his stunning smile and infectious laugh, always the joker.

"Jason was generous to a fault and helped so many who were stuck, a lot of the time just as a favour.

"His passing will definitely leave a huge void in so many lives, but at some point during our day we always remember his quips when we see or hear something which will bring a smile to our faces, and a giggle to our hearts".

Now, Jason's cousin, Alex Menzies, has set up a GoFundMe page to raise money to give Jason the "best funeral and memorial he deserves".

A statement on the GoFundMe by Alex said: "He was the most amazing person and always had a smile on his face, always making people laugh, done everything he possibly could to help anyone.

"He touched so many people's hearts and didn’t deserve to be taken. He is loved by so many and has left a big hole in everyone’s hearts.

"Jason was more than an inspiration he was an amazing father a brother, a lover, and a son and our whole family world’s been ripped apart."

So far, the page has raised over £700, and has a target of £1,000.
