THE Wirral branch of restaurant chain Hickory’s Smokehouse has reopened after an "exciting refresh".

The popular restaurant and neighbourhood bar in West Kirby, that was established in 2012, has swung open its doors again this week. The team has been busy behind the scenes, making changes to the interior of the much-loved restaurant to mark over ten years in the town.

Guests can now expect "a warm  welcoming environment" with plenty of new seating, from booths to larger tables for groups and families to enjoy.

The new-look bar area features additional seating, promising better views of the multiple screens.

Hickory's general manager, Tom Schofield, said: "We cannot wait to welcome guests back after our re-fresh.

"We have loved re-imagining our spaces and getting the place ready for more BBQ, sport and good times!"

Tom was one of the Hickory’s team who visited Austin, Texas on their last road trip and is passionate about giving the locals an authentic experience.

Looking forward to welcoming customers back, Tom, said: "We can’t wait to see what guests think of what we’ve done to the place hopefully we will see lots of familiar faces from the past 12 years and new over the next few weeks.

"It's great to be back to doing what we love – looking after our guests and firing up the smokers.

"The excitement is building and we’re looking busy so if you’re looking to joining us get yourself booked in.”

Known for its unique blend of authentic smokehouse dishes combined with an inventive drinks and cocktails, Hickory’s is renowned for famous for its 'inclusive, community-focussed, family friendly vibe'.

The menu is packed full of the flavours of the Deep South, with classic smokehouse dishes such as Memphis ribs, Texas-style brisket and BBQ pulled pork all smoked low ‘n’ slow in “Ole Hickory” and “Southern Pride” smokers. And let’s not forget burgers, subs, steaks and fajitas, alongside a tasty range of vegetarian options.

It promises "generous portion sizes, smokehouse favourites and more BBQ classics than you can handle".

The venue is open from midday on Monday to Friday and 10am every Saturday and Sunday. You can catch brunch until 2pm every day and the venue is open until late every night of the week.
