AN "experimental" street food venue has opened in Neston.
Alex Clamp, from Northampton, has always dreamt of having his own restaurant, after being involved with other businesses and takeaways in Birkenhead over the years.
Ready to take that "next step" and make his "food dreams come alive", Alex drafted in the help of Tyrone Hardeman as Managing Director of Operations for his new business, Burger Laboratory.
Speaking to the Globe, Tyrone said: "Alex has always had a passion for food.
"We pushed the idea of a smash burger a lot over the past 18 to 24 months and it's been relatively successful."
Burger Laboratory, which is the former Elephant Bank located at The Cross in Neston, aims to experiment with various ingredients and says they are "not a fine-dining premise".
They serve a range of smash burgers and "crazy creations" produced by their "nutty professors" for customers to enjoy.
Their menu also includes corndogs, hotdogs, kid's meals, loaded fries and more.
The team opened in October as a takeaway service, and are looking to open as a eat-in venue from February.
Tyrone added: "Alex fell in love with the Elephant Bank venue and it sparked his imagination and ideas.
"We're keeping things quite secretive at the moment in terms of our restaurant but we have some crazy ideas.
"We want people to be able to come in, have a good meal and a couple of drinks and enjoy the vibe."
Tyrone explained that the reaction from the local community has been positive since they opened three months ago.
"It's been a great reaction from the community", he said.
"It's really took off and we think we've hit a bit of a niche in Neston with regards to the smash burgers, it's been much busier then we were expecting.
"Alex is thrilled with the position we are in at the moment and our front of house will be opening soon."
