A YELLOW weather warning remains in Wirral as strong winds continue to hit the borough.

Storm Isha hit the region over the weekend after forecasters predicted that "strong winds associated with Storm Isha may bring disruption to travel and utilities across parts of the UK on Sunday and Monday".

The warning came into force at 12pm Sunday (January 21) and remains until 12pm today (Monday, January 22).

Meteorologists have said that Wirral will face windy with sunny spells and blustery showers today.

A spokesperson said: Another windy day to come with coastal gales at times, although not as windy as last night. Brighter than yesterday with sunny spells and occasional brief blustery showers, these locally quite heavy. Feeling chillier than yesterday although temperatures around average. Maximum temperature 8 °C.”
