Race For Life  

ENTRIES are now being taken for this year's Wirral Race For Life events in aid of Cancer Research UK.

The Globe-backed fundraiser, taking place in Birkenhead Park on Sunday, May 19 is open to people of all ages and abilities where mums, dads, sons, daughters, grandparents and friends can choose from 3k and 5k events.

There will also be a chance on the day to take part in Pretty Muddy, a 5k mud-splattered obstacle course, and there’s a Pretty Muddy Kids option.

Family festival

A HUGE family festival including a live music stage, dance music arena and a children’s stage is coming to Wirral later this year.

Monopoly Events is bringing the Wirral Family Festival to Prenton Park on Saturday, May 11 from noon to 11pm.

The event is brought to you by the curators of the nation’s biggest pop culture event, Comic Con Liverpool.

Get creative

ART classes are at Newton Village Hall on Mondays from 2.30-4.30pm and 7-9pm and Wednesdays from 10am to noon.

They feature drawing and painting for beginners to experienced artists.

Pottery

AN "innovative" exhibition of work by more than 20 local potters is on display at a Wirral art studio.

The challenge was thrown down to potters who attend workshops at the Rathbone Studio in Birkenhead, to create individual plates and platters decorated with different pattern and design techniques.

The result is an exhibition that will show the diversity of clay, truly ‘Inspiration On A Plate’.

It is on view at the venue on Argyle Street from until February 3. Opening times are Tuesday to Saturday from 2-5pm.

Bowls

OXTON CC Bowls Club has launched a recruitment drive for Crown Green Bowlers to join its existing first-team squad for the 2024 season, playing in both afternoon and evening Birkenhead & Wirral District leagues. Folk club

WALLASEY folk and acoustic club meets on the first and third Sundays of each month at Misty Blues, on Manor Road in Liscard.
