A MAN has been charged after a police officer was assaulted during an incident at a pub in Ellesmere Port.
At 11.15pm on Saturday, January 13, police were called to reports of a disturbance at The Cat on Wolverham Road, Ellesmere Port.
Officers attended and a 61-year-old man was subsequently arrested in relation to the incident.
Edward Roberts, of Lancing Road, Ellesmere Port, has since been charged with two counts of assaulting an officer, use of threatening/abusive language and resisting arrest.
He has been released on conditional bail and is set to appear at Chester Magistrates Court on Tuesday, February 16.
