THE first train services on the Chester and Ellesmere Port lines tomorrow morning (Monday, January 15) will be cancelled.
Merseyrail announced today (January 14) that trains will not be running due to forecast freezing conditions.
The transport service said that route proving trains will be run at the start of service tomorrow, to “ensure that the line is clear of ice and safe for passenger service”.
To accommodate this, there have been a number of cancellations and alterations to Chester and Ellesmere Port line services.
Tomorrow’s timetable will be as follows:
The 05:56 Chester to Liverpool Central will start at Hooton at 06:10
The 05:39 Liverpool Central to Chester will terminate at Hooton
The 06:00 Liverpool Central to Ellesmere Port will terminate at Hooton
The 06:10 Liverpool Central to Chester will terminate at Hooton at 06:36
The 06:17 Ellesmere Port to Liverpool Central will start at Hooton at 06:26
The 06:47 Ellesmere Port to Liverpool Central will start at Hooton at 06:56
A spokesperson for Merseyrail said the network “apologises for the disruption this will cause customers”.
