NEW data has revealed how primary schools in Wirral performed in pupils' Key Stage 2 exams.

In December, the Government released the first primary school performance data since the Covid outbreak.

The figures show how well schools performed in the SATs exams this summer and also reflect progress made while children are at primary school.

The exams are taken by final year primary school pupils.

You can see below the percentage each Wirral primary school was awarded for pupils meeting the expected standard in reading, writing and maths.

Pupils are meeting the expected standard if they achieve a scaled score of 100 or more in their reading and maths tests, and their teacher assesses them as 'working at the expected standard' or better in writing.

The Local Authority average for this was 56% and the England average was 60%.

The highest-performing schools in Wirral were Thornton Hough Primary School, Great Meols Primary School, Barnston Primary School, West Kirby Primary School, West Kirby St Bridget's CofE Primary School, Our Lady of Pity Catholic Primary School, St George's Primary School, Thurstaston Dawpool CofE Primary School, Poulton Lancelyn Primary School and Heswall St Peter's CofE Primary School.
