TRAFFIC has been stopped on the M53 after a crash this morning (Thursday, December 21).
One lane is closed and traffic is queuing due to an accident on the M53 Southbound from Junction 6 (Hooton) to Junction 7 B5132 Netherpool Road (Overpool).
The crash is believed to have happened at around 8.40am this morning.
Traffic and travel monitoring system Inrix states that the northbound side is also slow due to onlookers. Traffic was held following the accident but one lane has now reopened.
National Highways said the accident has caused 'severe' 30 minute delays in the area.
