A WIRRAL business has donated hundreds of pounds worth of Christmas toys to help a boxing club support its community.

Bromborough-based heating equipment supplier, Stiebel Eltron UK, gifted the toys to Bridgewater Salford ABC where volunteers will distribute them to local children.

Lego, Play-Doh, and Rainbow High Dolls are just some of the toys available and will be part of a larger collection which will be donated to the area’s children by the boxing club.

The donation comes after Stiebel Eltron UK partnered with Bridgewater Salford ABC earlier this year to support the club in helping its local community.

As well as teaching Salford’s children the art of boxing, Bridgewater Salford ABC works to steer youths away from crime, as well as helping local families with food parcels and other initiatives.

Last Christmas, the boxing club collected Christmas presents to the value of £5,000 for local families, an amount they are looking to beat this time around.

With Stiebel Eltron UK's regional specification manager (North), Brett Baxter, having a strong relationship with the club’s owner, John Mastin, the business began its partnership with Bridgewater Salford ABC when it provided the club with heating during the winter months last year so its members could train in comfort.

Having relocated to new premises on Cobden Street, Salford, the club had no heating until Stiebel Eltron UK supplied and installed a SHC 15 GB water heater unit, two CNS 200 Trend Convectors, and a CNS 100 Trend Convector unit.

One of the most respected clubs in the area, Bridgewater Salford ABC has a track record of producing national boxing champions while being an integral part of championing the local community.

As well as supporting the boxing club’s efforts to collect toys for local children and providing heating to its premises, Stiebel Eltron UK supported Bridgewater Salford ABC during Easter this year in collecting Easter Egg donations.

Moving forward into 2024, the business has committed to further supporting the club in its positive community initiatives throughout the year.

Mark McManus, Stiebel Eltron UK, managing director, said: “Everyone at Bridgewater Salford have been doing relentless and fantastic work to help the community. We have a really strong relationship with the club and admire the work they do, so naturally we want to support them.

“The club’s work to champion and support the community is second to none and everyone at Stiebel Eltron UK is proud to help a club which is so passionate about making a positive impact to the people around it. We’re looking forward to continuing this throughout 2024 and beyond.”
