A WIRRAL street food restaurant has welcomed a new head chef.

Velvet Bar and Grill, which opened around nine months ago in Hoylake, offers "freshly made street food, an extensive selection of drinks and a relaxed ambiance".

Last month, Jaime Else took on the role of head chef, with 19 years of experience.

According to the restaurant, Jaime brings "versatility and cross-training, showcasing expertise in various culinary styles and techniques" and "draws inspiration from diverse cuisines and cultures to deliver a broad spectrum of flavours and presentation styles."

Having managed numerous restaurants from the ground up, she also "understands the importance of crafting menus that resonate with the customers."

The new menu at Velvet Bar and Grill reflects her "commitment to delivering wholesome, comforting, and sought-after dishes".

Jaime said: "My goal is to elevate Velvet to new heights, diversifying the clientele and injecting a fresh vibrancy into the local area."

Owner of the restaurant, Dean Fitzgibbon, said: "At Velvet, we pride ourselves on being a fun and lively venue with a team of vibrant characters.

"Our staff are not just here to serve; they are here to make your experience memorable. The venue exudes a chilled but luxurious vibe, creating a welcoming atmosphere where diners can unwind, socialise, and enjoy the unique offerings.

"Whether you're a couple seeking an intimate date night, a group of friends enjoying a night out, or a family looking for a wholesome Sunday feast, Velvet caters to everyone."

Families are welcomed with a dedicated kids menu and popular Sunday roasts.
