THE RIDER of an illegal scrambler motorbike told officers he was “going to the jet wash” when he was caught on the roads.
On Wednesday (November 29) Merseyside Police attended Rock Retail Park in Birkenhead to carry out a day of action.
During the day, a rider of a non-legal scrambler motorcycle was stopped and dealt with for numerous offences.
The rider gave officers the excuse that he was “going to the jet wash” when told he was putting road users at risk. The motorcycle was seized.
Officers also dealt with a driver for driving with no insurance.
While at the retail park, officers were offering a chance to register cycles with the National Bike Register Scheme and offering crime prevention advice and equipment to shoppers.
They also carried out road policing and checked more than 60 vehicles for road traffic offences.
