THE owners of an award-winning Wirral funeral directors will celebrate its fifth birthday with a special mass later this month.

Owens' annual Memorial Mass will take place at St. Alban’s Church on Mill Lane in Wallasey on Saturday, December. 9.

The family-run business, situated in Liscard, has received widespread praise for 'outstanding' service, with its Memorial Mass described as 'one of their beautiful touches'.

Since it opened, Owens has received a prestigious five-star award from The Funeral Guide and a Certificate Of Excellence from Three Best Rated for three years running.

It is currently ranked top in Wirral on The Funeral Guide for both popularity and price — with over 200 5 star reviews due to 'exceptional service and attention to detail'.

One of the things they offer is a ‘memory tree’ at their Liscard premises — with a personal bauble dedicated to each and every loved one they look after — and they provide families with Forgetmenot seeds.

One of the services they also offer is a bespoke jewellery service where Alex personally handcrafts ashes into beautiful personalised pieces.

The annual Memorial Mass is a particularly beautiful touch — a free event in which families are invited to come together to remember those who have passed away.

Owner Lorraine Owens said: “This year’s Memorial Mass is taking place at St. Alban’s Church in Wallasey on Saturday December 9 from 12 noon.

"This is followed by refreshments at St. Alban’s Church Hall from 1pm and we also livestream the event for those who cannot attend.

"They are always very emotional and powerful events and always a beautiful tribute to those who have passed."

She continued: “For us, this is exactly why we do what we do. We always aim to go above and beyond, to go the extra mile. We want to be much more than just a funeral directors — we are a family who are here to support you and your family.

"Why should our care just stop at the funeral? The Memorial Mass is a continuation of our love and support for families during their loss.”

Lorraine added that the company's work has received some profound and thoroughly heart-warming reviews over the past five years.

She said: "It’s been an honour to help so many people during the past 5 years. For us, it’s far more than just a service — it’s helping people during their darkest hour, being part of the grieving process and being a part of someone’s transition from life to death.

"It’s great to be recognised with all the awards but it’s not why we do what we do — we do it because we genuinely care."
