THE Port Sunlight Players’ production of 9 to 5 The Musical is on this week.

Staged at the Gladstone Theatre in Port Sunlight from this Thursday (November 30) to Saturday December 2, it is about three female co-workers who concoct a plan to get even with the ‘sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot’ they call their boss.

Christmas fair

THERE'S a Christmas Fair at Claremount Road Church on Wallasey this Saturday (December 2). From midday until 3pm, Admission is £1, children go free. There will be stalls, games and refreshments.

Charity fayre

A Christmas fayre in aid of The Holistic Cancer Centre takes place this Saturday (December 2) at Christ Church Parish Hall on Upton Road, Moreton from noon - 4pm.

There will be various stalls including craft, books, art, jewellery, Tombola, Toys, Bric a Brac, and more. Santa will be in his Grotto.

Hospice lights

THIS year's 'light up a life' lights switch-on for Wirral Hospice St John's takes place next month.

Ten thousand lights will shine out in memory of loved ones and in aid of the hospice following the Globe-backed switch on ceremony, taking place on Sunday, December 10.

They will be turned on by the husband and children of Helen Parentini, who died at the hospice on September 18 last year following a battle with cancer.

Juan said: "It's such a special honour to be asked to switch on the lights for Light up a Life. Helen was so grateful for the kindness and care she was given by the wonderful team at the hospice".

Rock 'n' roll

MIKE Byrne and the Sunrockers will be back at Heswall British Legion next Wednesday (December 6), promising another great night of rock and roll, singing and playing the music of Buddy, Elvis, Jerry Lee, Roy and many others, Doors open 7,30pm. Admission £5 on door.

Festive fair

The first of three Christmas concerts at Trinity with Palm Grove Church on Alton Road in Oxton takes place this week.

Liverpool Harmonic Gospel Choir is in concert at the venue on Friday, December 1 (7pm). 

Wirral Recorder Orchestra are in concert there on Saturday (December 2) at 4pm.

Port Sunlight Choral Society and BHSA Lunimelles are there on Friday, December 8 at 7pm.

RSPB Wirral talk

ANTHONY Brandreth will give an illustrated talk entitled The North Atlantic Ocean” as RSPB Wirral's next meeting on Thursday, December 7.

It will take place at Hoylake Community Centre on Hoyle Road, Hoylake, starting at 7.30 pm.
