THIS year's 'light up a life' lights switch-on for Wirral Hospice St John's takes place next month.

Ten thousand lights will shine out in memory of loved ones and in aid of the hospice following the Globe-backed switch on ceremony, taking place on Sunday, December 10.

They will be turned on by the husband and children of Helen Parentini, who died at the hospice on September 18 last year following a battle with cancer.

Juan said: "It's such a special honour to be asked to switch on the lights for Light up a Life. Helen was so grateful for the kindness and care she was given by the wonderful team at the hospice".
