A MERSEYSIDE housebuilder hosted a charity ball for Claire House Children’s Hospice.

David Wilson Homes added £35,000 to the fundraising pot for its charity of the year during a charity ball at Marriott Worsley Park Hotel in Manchester. The ball featured a variety of fundraising activities for the children’s hospice.

It was the second annual ball that David Wilson Homes has hosted to raise funds for Claire House. This year’s theme was ‘The Greatest Showman’ and featured a raffle and bingo for all attendees.

Dan Halliday, Corporate Fundraising Manager at Claire House Children’s Hospice, said: “We were delighted to once again be chosen as the charity partner for David Wilson Homes, and to attend its annual ball to raise money for the hospice. This year’s ball was such an amazing event and to raise such a huge amount of money, means that we can be there to hold the hand of children and their families when they need us most.

“We exist because of the wonderful support from businesses like David Wilson Homes and we can’t thank the company enough for everything it does for us.”

The hospice supports more than 400 families with seriously and terminally ill children live as full and as happy a life as they can.

Claire Jarvis, Managing Director at David Wilson Homes North West, said: “With our strong presence in Merseyside, Claire House Children’s Hospice is a charity that’s close to the hearts of everyone at David Wilson Homes.

“It’s a real privilege to have the opportunity to support the charities in the communities where we build, and we’re proud to continue our fundraising to support the incredible services provided for young people and their families at the hospice.

“Our charity ball was a huge success for the second year running, and we’re delighted to have raised £35,000 for Claire House.”
