THE Carlton Players' production of comedy classic Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em is on this week.

The stage version by Guy Unsworth - at the Little Theatre in Birkenhead from Tuesday to Saturday, November 14 to 18 - is an adaption of the popular 1970s BBC series that was created  by Raymond Allen and featured Michael Crawford as Frank Spencer and and Michele Dotrice as his long-suffering wife Betty.

The Carlton Players' production features Tom Jenkinson and Lucy Ashcroft in the lead roles.

It follows the exploits of well-meaning but accident prone Frank as he struggles through life whilst trying to look after his wife and family.

With guests arriving for dinner and crossed wires all round, priceless misunderstandings are on the menu. Hilarious mishaps and DIY disasters bring the house down, quite literally, in this ensemble farce.

The BBC TV series was first broadcast in 1973 and ran for two series, including two Christmas specials in 1974 and 1975.

The stage version of Frank's comic exploits went on a U.K Tour, with Joe Pasquale in the lead role.

Tickets for The Carlton Players production are from www.carltonlittletheatre.co.uk or The Healthy Option, 34 Oxton Road, Birkenhead.
