POLICE investigating a fatal collision near the Countess of Chester Hospital have charged a man from Ellesmere Port in relation to the incident.
At 10.46am on Sunday, November 5, two cars collided at the traffic lights on Liverpool Road, near the hospital.
A 57-year-old woman was taken to hospital but sadly died.
Paul Wright, of Westenra Avenue, Ellesmere Port, was arrested at the scene in relation to the incident.
The 31-year-old has since been charged with causing death by dangerous driving and a further two offences of drug driving from earlier in the year.
Wright appeared in court today (Tuesday, November 7) and was bailed on condition he is electronically tagged and remains in the Ellesmere Port area, bordered by the M53, M56, A494 and A550, at all times, until he is due to appear at Chester Crown Court on December 5.
