A MAN was punched in the face during an 'unprovoked attack' in a Liverpool city centre pub.
At around 11pm on Friday 27 October it was reported that a man was shouted at and then punched in the face inside the Irish House on Ranelagh Street.
The suspect then followed his victim outside to his car as he left the area.
Since the attack detectives have conducted CCTV and witness enquiries to identify the suspect, and have now issued an image of a man they believe could assist with their investigation.
Detective Inspector Neil Dillon said: "This was a violent and unprovoked attack on a member of the public who was on a night out in our city centre.
"Everyone should feel safe in their own community without the fear of being attacked, and we are working to find whoever is responsible.
"I am appealing to the person shown in this CCTV footage, or anyone who recognises him to come forward, as we believe he could hold information that could be vital to our continuing enquiries.
"Similarly, if you saw the assault or the victim involved in this incident on Friday night please contact police as soon as possible.
"If you work in the area and have any CCTV or dashcam footage from the night of Friday 27 October then please contact police with this information."
