A GYM will host their grand opening today (Thursday, October 26) with the ribbon being cut by a world boxing champion.
Anytime Fitness Birkenhead, on Grange Road, opened its doors last month, after enjoying a six-figure makeover following the takeover of the Fitness4Less gym.
Their grand opening, taking place from 4pm today, Thursday, will be opened by world boxing champion, JJ Metcalf.
The 35-year-old from Liverpool has held the IBO super-welterweight title since May 2023.
He previously held the Commonwealth super-welterweight title in 2019 and challenged for the British super-welterweight title in March 2021. He is the son of former boxer Shea Neary.
Metcalf will be taking photos and signing autographs for everyone who attends.
The opening event can be attended by anyone, with the gym hosting giveaways, challenges and games, music, food and exclusive membership deals for anyone who’d like to join.
"We’re super excited to be throwing open our doors to the local community for our opening event,” said Renata Holliday, co-owner of Anytime Fitness Birkenhead.
"We’d like to thank JJ for supporting us and we hope to see people of all ages come and join us for the event.
"The feedback since we opened last month has been fantastic and it’s so rewarding for us to be supporting people in the local area with their health and wellbeing."
The 24/7 gym will also be hosting an open evening after the event and hopes to welcome members’ friends and families, as well as local business owners.
