Talk and AGM

WIRRAL Wildlife Group’s annual general meeting will take place this Friday. Taking place at Thornton Hough W.I. Hall in Thornton Hough it starts at 7.30pm and will be followed by a talk by Dr Monica McCard entitled Ecology and behaviour of the invasive lionfish.

It will be a chance to learn about the ecological impacts and behaviour interactions of the notorious invasive lionfish (Pterois volitans).

Invasive lionfish have now become a highly successful ongoing damaging invader throughout the western Atlantic Ocean and more recently the Mediterranean. Thanks to feeding experiments, researchers know more about the predator-prey relationship against different prey species which gives more information on how to try and manage this invasion of lionfish. Admission to the AGM is free but donations are welcome.
