A WIRRAL teenager has won a silver medal in his first-ever senior trampolining competition.

Harry Newman, 16, started trampolining when he was seven-years-old.

The Hilbre High School student had a few years out of the sport and then returned two years ago.

Not long after getting back into training, Harry was selected for the England Squad in the Double Mini Trampoline discipline of trampolining.

He went on to represent England in the Frivolton Cup in Sweden in 2022.

On September 16 and 17, Harry competed in the Jaffa Trampoline, Tumbling & DMT British Championships 2023.

He won Silver in the Senior Double Mini Trampolining category.

Speaking to the Globe, Harry said: "I hope to inspire young people to get into trampolining like me.

"It was sick to win the silver medal and it was unexpected,"

Harry has now been selected to represent England again this year, in the Loule Cup in Portugal, which takes place later this Autumn.

Harry added: "Thank you to my club Propulsion for helping me get to the Championships."

A spokesperson for Hilbre High School said: "A huge congratulations Harry, an amazing result and he should be proud."
