WIRRAL's multi-award-winning micropub The Bow-Legged Beagle has opened its fourth venue - described as its biggest one to date.

Situated on Telegraph Road in Heswall, the latest venue has four taps, 10 kegs and a fridge full of constantly revolving alternative drinks, a beer garden and plans for an upstairs events space.

What is said to set the Heswall venue apart is the beer garden at the rear.

There are also exciting plans for an upstairs events space that’s ideal for private hire and events such as tap takeovers and movie nights.

Picking up awards along the way such as The Cellarman’s Award for Best Kept Real Ale, the key reason for its success is not only the great drink but the friendly atmosphere as a community hub.

Co-founder Andy Williams explained: "We’ve had a solid ethos of great beer and great atmosphere from the outset and that has remained across all venues.

"So many friendships have been made over the past six years and we’ve developed a reputation for being a safe and friendly space for people to come and escape whilst enjoying quality, alternative drinks."

"When John and I first started out in New Brighton, we knew we’d created something special but we didn’t envisage such growth.

"We’ve just been going with the flow really and we don’t have a business plan — the concept has just taken off and it’s grown organically. It must be said, our staff have been a huge part of its success."

Keeping things simple has certainly worked for the two friends and together they have built an army of great staff and loyal customers who all help make The Bow Legged Beagle an incredible place to drink.

The new venue in Heswall is the latest evolution of The Bow Legged Beagle juggernaut that’s showing no signs of slowing down and continues to provide one of the best drinking spaces for the people of Wirral.

Andy summarised: "It feels great to be opening our biggest venue yet, with a beer garden and plans for a unique events space upstairs.

"We’ll still be keeping with our values and it will have the same great atmosphere and revolving range of quality drinks, but the beer garden and upstairs will give us scope to do more.

"Watch this space for some big beer events coming to Heswall next year.”
