A MAN is recovering from serious head injuries after an attack in Liverpool City Centre.
At around 4.50am on Sunday, August 27, a man in his 30s was punched in the face by another man and fell backwards, hitting the ground on Back Colquitt Street, at the rear of Fact cinema.
The victim suffered serious head injuries which needed hospital treatment and is still recovering from his injuries.
The alleged offender left the scene soon after the incident with two other men, walking towards Wood Street in the direction of Berry Street and got into a taxi.
In a statement, Merseyside Police said CCTV and witness enquiries are ongoing to identify the suspect responsible and detectives have issued images of a man they believe could assist with their investigation.
Detective Inspector Katie Coote said: "This was a dangerous and reckless attack that has left the victim seriously injured where he is still recovering from the attack.
"This incident took place at a time when there would have been busy with people out celebrating the Bank Holiday weekend, so if you were in the vicinity in the early hours of Sunday and saw anything, then please contact us.
"We are taking this incident extremely seriously and I am appealing to the man featured in this image, or anyone who recognises him to come forward. We believe he could hold information that could be vital to our continuing enquiries.”
