Band’s 50th

A charity concert marking the Port Sunlight Lyceum Brass Band’s 50th anniversary will be staged later this month. Taking place on Sunday, September 24 it will be held at Gladstone Theatre in Port Sunlight, starting at 2.30pm.

History society

GAVIN Hunter will give a talk entitled The life of Lady Lever as Bebington Family History Group's guest speaker later this month.

Taking place on Monday, September 25 it will be held at St Barnabus Hall in Bromborough and starts at 7.30pm.

The Bebington group meets on the 4th Monday of every month. New members and visitors are always welcome.

Classic musical

ST Paul’s Musical Theatre Company’s production of Hello Dolly! is at The Gladstone Theatre in Port Sunlight from October 11-14.

A classic American musical, it follows Dolly Levi, in her pursuit of wealthy, tight-fisted Horace Vandergelder, whilst spreading joy and confusion among everyone she comes into contact with in 1885 New York. St Paul’s production is directed by Brenda Davies with Sian James as musical director. Tickets from 0151 643 8757.

Jazz for charity

OUT of the Blue Jazz Orchestra is performing an evening of Big Band Swing Music at Trinity with Palm Grove Church, Alton Road, Oxton this Saturday (September 16). It starts at 7.30pm.

Tickets, £10. All proceeds will go to the Birkenhead-based Charles Thompson Mission.

Rock ‘n’ roll

CHESHIRE Cats’ rock ‘n’ roll fundraising nights are every Wednesday from 7.30 until 11pm at The Poulton Victoria Club on Poulton Bridge Road, Wallasey. Entrance £1.50. Proceeds for charities helping sick children.
