WHAT is one thing you wish Wirral had?

The Globe asked that very question to its readers and here are some of the most popular responses.

Something that seems to be "sorely missed" by Wirral residents was the Open Air Baths.

Council cuts saw the closure of the New Ferry Swimming Baths in 1981 and New Brighton Baths were shut after hurricane-force winds in 1990, but they were a popular hotspot for many.

Yvette Marsden-Beckett, Avril Lucille and Gerri Andrades all said they wish outdoor pools and baths would return to Wirral.

Gerri said: "Outdoor baths....like we had before. Sorely missed."

Another popular response was the Wirral Show.

Running for 33 years, the Wirral Show, was a favourite among many. The huge two-day event in New Brighton was axed when organisers the Rotary Club of Wallasey and the Wallasey Lions Club pulled out.

Christine Fawcett said: "It's show back."

Joanne Mitchell added: "New Brighton Wirral show!"

It is very visible that town centres across the country have seen more shop closures than ever.

Globe readers highlighted the issues at Birkenhead Town Centre.

Jane Fred said: "Birkenhead to have all the shops back and it was busy like it used to be."

Lianne Davies added: "A proper shopping centre as it seems we have hardly any clothes and shoe shops in Birkenhead."

Kathy Woodland said: "Birkenhead Town Centre like it used to be, with all the well-known shops back that have long gone."

On the topic of shops and restaurants, IKEA and Taco Bell were both popular answers among readers.

Alex Rankin, Catherine Williams, Jeano Mccleannan and Paula Jane Downie all said they wished Wirral had an IKEA.

Lily Carlin and Ste Curran said they would love a Taco Bell.

On the activity side of things, Ange Parker and Pam Dainty said they wished Wirral had an "ice rink".

Angela Keaton said she doesn't wish anything as she loves Wirral "as it is".
